So the mainstream press is again circulating Western governments' propaganda. A NYT headline reads "NATO frees 20 hostages from pirates" off the coast of Somalia. We've seen news reports for some time now about the dangerous pirates and the need for policing the seas. This is just the latest pretext to push for NATO's global expansion. As if pirates came anywhere close to the US or Israeli military as a worldwide security threat...
A NYT editorial also argues that "The United States and its allies and other affected states will have to increase their patrols in the Indian Ocean" because "pirates simply cannot be allowed to roam the seas unchallenged", but the US Navy apparently can, in fact is encouraged to do so more intensively.
