Israel has plans for 73,000 settlement homes, Reuters reports. If this is fully carried out, the number of settlers in the territories will be doubled to 600,000, according to Peace Now. This would destroy whatever chance remains of achieving a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Related, Hillary Clinton told Israel that its plans to destroy 88 Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem were "unhelpful". East Jerusalem is Occupied Territory. Of course it is not like if Clinton's statement was a sign of her progressive politics, but as Juan Cole said, in an excellent post on the issue today, we should consider supporting Clinton's statement as the right will not, and progressives have a tendency to brush the issue aside, resulting in them being overwhelmed by conservatives--who WILL write to Clinton to tell her she should not have said that.
